2 Month Checkup

No pictures to speak of here but Isabella Kristine went to her two month checkup yesterday and we thought we'd let you know how she's doing.
PERFECT - this is the word used by the nurse who did most of the check-up.

Weight at birth: 6 lbs, 15 oz
Weight now: 10 lbs, 3.5 oz

Length at birth: 20.5"
Length now: 24"

Her head circumference and weight are at the 50th percentile for children at their 2 month checkup, but her length is in the 92nd percentile. We're not sure where she got it or how long it will last but Bella is one tall baby.

The last thing we learned yesterday at the doctor was that the Tiny one is no fan of shots. She got several inoculations yesterday in the form of 3 injections to her thighs and she let the whole office know that she was none too pleased about it. Her legs were tender for the rest of the day and Mommy and Daddy decided to skip her bath on account of it, but she didn't seem any worse for the wear when she woke up this morning.
We fly out tomorrow morning so that Bella can meet Grandma Needham and the DeMartino's in Florida so we'll have more pictures sometime early next week.
Thanks for visiting!

Easter with Family and "Family" #2

POST #1 IS BELOW:
Sunday morning our whole group woke up early to head to church. Before entering the building, Bella stopped, put on her kissy face, and posed with her cousins Megan and Haley. The church was very cold which Bella did not take to very easily. After a few minutes with Daddy in the cry-room, though, she was ready to rejoin the family. All three girls were very well behaved all weekend.

Welly (short for Abuelita (which is Spanish for Grandma, Dad's family)) got Isabella one of her other Easter baskets. After the Easter Sunday festivities, she and Bella had a sleepover at Grandma's house. We were told it was so we could sleep, but the next morning we found out that Welly woke up the Tiny One extra early so that she could be dressed up and shown off to other members of the family! We can only imagine that those people were incredibly impressed with her.

This is the Needham Family Portrait from Easter Sunday. This is after Bella's wardrobe change for the day because she was getting very hot in her heavy cotton dress and sun-hat. This little number kept her much cooler. This is right before the Easter egg hunt. There were cascarones filled with confetti but Dad told Bella to focus on the plastic eggs because they were filled with candy.

This one fooled both of us! Dad got excited because he assumed this would have candy in it - he was rooting for red Starburst. Instead, this plastic egg had MONEY in it that went straight into Bella's college fund... which is currently a piggy-bank on her dresser.

Thanks for reading - visit again soon!

Easter with Family and "Family" #1

The Needham family left Tulsa the Friday before Easter once Dad got off of work. We flew to San Antonio so that Aunt Tarah and her family could meet Bella. Obviously Tarah was anxious to reunite with the Tiny One and the rest of the Burris family made a very good impression on Bella. She's excited to go back.
The next morning we went out to lunch with some people who were also very eager to introduce themselves to Isabella. This is Aunt Trisha and Uncle Doug. Bella was the recipient of their stylish Bumbo that can be seen in a previous post. She slept through most of lunch but did awake to say hi.

On Easter Sunday, Isabella met her cousin Mark. He lives in Houston and had also not met the Tiny One yet. Bella was awake for much of Easter Sunday which made for great pictures.

Aunt Roxy and Uncle Sonny could not WAIT to get their hands on Isabella and Aunt Roxy might have stolen her if she had anywhere to run - she was already home so we knew where she lived. They were excellent hosts and we think Bella was a very polite and gracious guest. She stayed awake for most of the day and didn't make too much of a fuss at all.

Isabella received three... count them THREE, Easter baskets. This is Aunt Emma who was reunited with the Tiny One after a couple of weeks and the super cute basket that she gave her.

The Pictures We Promised.

This is Lovely Bella pre-bath. Like we said in the last post, she's getting to the point where the bath itself is getting to be pretty painless. She still hates post-bath activities but she's pretty comfortable in the water. Isabella appears here in her stylish Bumbo courtesy of Aunt Trisha.

This dress was provided by Abuelita Fashions. Isabella has been smiling quite a bit more recently than she used to (which is obviously fantastic!). Our nanny, Chelsea took this picture. Chelsea has been helping us out 3 days a week while Mommy is in her home office getting work done and preparing for the summer. You can't beat that face!

This outfit was provided courtesy of Dad's manager, Lance. Daddy can't wait until he and Bella go to their first Yankee game together and he can show her off.

... as always, please check back soon as we'll have lots of pictures to share with you. Mom just got back from shopping for Easter (Bella doesn't need the help, but she'll be VERY cute). Thanks for visiting!

We're Getting There!

No pictures to accompany this blog post.
For those of you who are still paying attention, Isabella is still figuring out the whole "sleep" thing, and Mom and Dad are still trying to put her on a schedule. BUT, there are lights at the end of various tunnels.
For the first time, Bella slept for 8 hours straight the other day! She slept from 7:30pm until 3:30am. Granted, we didn't get to sleep for all that because we usually don't go to bed until after 10:00, but Isabella is starting to fall asleep a little later and stay asleep a little longer every night. The next day wasn't so much fun because she didn't nap at ALL though - like I said, very much a work in progress.

Bella is also getting used to baths. She cries MUCH less while she's in the process of being bathed and yesterday had a whole cup of water poured over her head and all she did was spit water out of her mouth afterward! She still hates the post-bath routine of lotioning, having her ears cleaned, and taking her vitamins but we'll get there.

All three of us are getting very excited for our upcoming trips to Alice, TX for Easter and to Venice, FL for Bella to meet Grandma Needham and the Great-grandparents DeMartino. Obviously more pictures will be forth-coming. Thanks for checking in everyone!
