Trip To Florida Part I

A couple weeks ago, Isabella cashed in her frequent flier miles and traveled to Florida to visit some of the few remaining relatives that hadn't gotten the chance to bask in her beauty and gracefulness (and modesty). Grandma and Aunt Kathy met us at the airport and drove us to Venice where the Great Grandparents DeMartino anxiously awaited her arrival. Great Grandpa had his turn first and, as you can see, they were fast friends. Saturday we basically hung around the house so everyone could catch up and, true to form, the Tiny One was very well behaved.

Great Grandma had her turn next. Throughout the weekend, these two ladies had lots of girl talk. On Sunday night, Grandma Carole, Aunt Kathy, and Great Grandma babysat to let Mom and Dad use the hotel room and get a little extra sleep. When the Tiny One woke up for her mid-night feeding, all the ladies woke up together to gossip and trade stories. Great Grandpa told Dad the next morning that he just sat in bed and laughed at them!

One of the highlights of the trip was getting to meet Grandma! Isabella doesn't realize how lucky she was to escape the weekend with her cheeks in tact - although I suppose that Grandma will have plenty of opportunities over the next few years to pinch them off. Watching Grandma talk to the Tiny One (and vice versa) was definitely an incredible experience and one we'll get to relive this summer when Grandma babysits in Chicago for a couple weeks.

I actually don't know for you sure that Aunt Kathy didn't take a piece of Bella's cheeks with her (see mischievous look in picture). After she said that Isabella was the cutest thing that she had ever seen, she gave Dad a guilty look. "It's okay," he said, "I had a good run."

Isabella is a very lucky girl because all four of her great grandparents live in the same town in Florida! So, on Sunday morning, everyone woke up early to spend a couple hours with the Needhams between biscuits (breakfast) and a sandwich bar (lunch). Grandpa flew down from CT to see her as well!
